“ In today’s ever-changing world, it seems that we never have the time to consider the reality of life. If we all stood still for 1 minute and took the time to reflect on what is most important to us, I think we would all agree that it is the value of being around others, be it family or friends and being able to talk and laugh with those who are dear to us, that counts. It is when I reflect on these moments that I realise, in a snapshot, that I all to quickly get lost in my own day to day world and those precious times are put to one side. This is why when we lose those closest to us, it becomes incomprehensible that it has actually happened. Indeed, “why me?”

The stark reality is that it will happen to all of us, it is just a question of when. This is why we must not wait but must begin to enjoy every moment we are blessed with.

On reflection of my experiences and others close to me, when this unfortunate time falls upon us, no matter how controlled we may appear, we will experience feelings of desolation and despair and the simplest, everyday tasks will feel almost impossible to perform. How then, are we to prepare or even think about organising the most important part of celebrating our loved ones life, and more importantly - in only 2 weeks.

We at Serenity believe this is the time to pass this daunting task onto an understanding group, who will in turn ensure that the best possible arrangements are made, and within a timely manner. The way we achieve this is by becoming their personal contact from start to finish during this terrible stage of emotions, overseeing and managing all elements of a worthy funeral without giving them the worry.
